Hatching Eggs at Forget-Me-Not Quail Farm

Whether you’re starting your first covey or adding fresh genetics to an existing one, these hatching eggs give you a strong, healthy start. They come straight from my best breeding pens. Birds chosen for their strength, productivity, and calm, easygoing temperaments. If I wouldn’t hatch it myself, I don’t sell it.

2025 Pricing

  • Spring–Fall Pricing (April–August): $1.00 per egg
  • Winter Discount (October–March): $0.50 per egg
  • Minimum Order: 12 eggs
  • Pickup: By appointment only

I don’t sell hatching eggs through the farm stand. The eggs there come from my grow-out pens, washed and refrigerated for eating. If you want fertile eggs ready for the incubator, you’ll need to schedule a pickup so I can set aside fresh, unwashed eggs collected that same day from my breeding pens.

What You’ll Get

During the spring rush (March through June), all hatching eggs are sold as mixed line collections to keep things running smoothly. Your dozen might include any mix of color lines (and sometimes a few fun recessive surprises too). Later in the season, once things calm down, you can request specific lines if they’re available. No matter the color, every egg comes from strong, proven breeders with consistently high fertility and hatch rates.

Our 2026 Lines

Andalusian: Elegant gray plumage that adds a bit of mystery to any covey. You can expect about half of the chicks to carry the Andalusian coloring and the rest to show their base color.

Sparkly Pansy Pearl: A striking blend of fawn, Fee, and sparkly genes that produces soft white plumage with unique dark barring. Beautiful, calm, and breed true.

Calico Collection: A diverse mix of Calico genetics that showcases mottled patterns and warm tones. Reliable layers and a joy to hatch.

True Black: Deep, glossy black birds refined for size and temperament. They breed true and make a solid foundation for any covey.

Splash Collection: A rare Australian-origin gene producing mostly white birds with splashes of color across their backs. Each bird is one of a kind, with the same sweet, gentle temperament this line is known for.

Pickup Details

All hatching eggs are:

  • Collected the same day as your appointment
  • Unwashed and stored at the ideal temperature for hatching
  • Available by appointment only

Pickups happen here at the farm on the Fryeburg/Bridgton line, but I can also meet in Bridgton, Fryeburg, Sebago, Windham, or nearby towns if that’s easier. Just let me know when you get in touch.

Policies & What to Expect

All hatching egg sales are final. No refunds or replacements for eggs that don’t hatch. Hatch success depends on your setup, including things like incubator performance, temperature swings, and handling. I provide fresh, fertile eggs from proven breeders, but once they leave my hands, hatch results depend on your setup.

Here on the farm, my fertile eggs average a 90–100% hatch rate, and I’m always happy to share what’s worked here to help you get similar results. Every order includes a simple hatching guide to get you started off right.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I pick my color line?

Not from March through June. During that time, all hatching eggs are sold as mixed line only. After June, you can request eggs from specific lines based on availability.

How long can I store hatching eggs before setting them?

Set them within 10 days if possible. The sooner, the better. Store pointy-end down at 50–60°F and gently turn once or twice a day if holding for more than two days.

What’s the hatch rate?

That depends on your setup, but we routinely see 90–100% hatch rates on fertile eggs here on the farm. Factors like shipping, handling, or inconsistent incubator temperatures can affect results, but I always send the freshest eggs possible.

Can I mix color lines in one order?

Yes! All spring orders are already mixed, and later-season orders can include multiple lines by request.
