Live Birds for Sale at Forget-Me-Not Quail Farm
Looking to start your own covey or expand your current setup? We raise healthy, hardy Coturnix quail right here on our Maine homestead—birds we’d be proud to keep ourselves (and often do until they head to your place). Whether you’re after eggs, meat, or breeding stock, we’ve got options to fit your goals.
We hatch on a rolling schedule during the season and offer birds at multiple life stages—from just-hatched chicks to mature laying hens. Everything is sold by appointment only, and we’ll guide you every step of the way.
What Type of Quail Are You Looking For?
Use the links below to learn more about availability, pricing, and policies for each type of quail we offer:
- Day-Old Chicks – Start from scratch with freshly hatched Coturnix chicks
- Started Quail (20–42 Days Old) – Feathered out and off heat, but not yet mature
- Mature Quail (6+ Weeks) – Sexed and ready for eggs or breeding
- Meat Males – Extra males raised with care, perfect for the table
Note: During spring and summer, we often have a waitlist. Orders are first-come, first-served, and may require lead time.
2025 Color Lines
We’re hatching from the following color lines this year. Some breed true, others don’t—but all have been selected for health, size, and usefulness on a homestead.
- Mixed Jumbos – A variety of colors, all hitting and often exceeding the 10 oz target by 10 weeks
- Andalusian – Unique coloring, but do not breed Andalusian to Andalusian. Chicks from these pairs are about 50% Andalusian, 50% base color
- Pansy Pearl Fee – Homozygous; breed true
- Calico Fee – Homozygous; breed true
- Black – Breed true
- Mixed Celadon – Mixed colors, all homozygous for the Celadon gene (they lay blue eggs)
After June, you can request a specific color line when placing your order—we’ll do our best to match it. Early spring, we only provide chicks in mixed lots.
Hatch Schedule & Availability
We set eggs weekly and hatch multiple times throughout the week, depending on the season and availability. Chicks are typically available for pickup within a day of hatch, and we recommend picking them up within the first five days for the best selection and pricing.
For current and upcoming hatch info (including chick availability), check the Day-Old Chicks page.
