Mature Coturnix Quail for Sale in Maine
If you’re ready for fresh eggs or want to expand your breeding program without the wait of brooders and grow-outs, mature quail are the fastest way to build a productive covey. These birds are six weeks or older, fully feathered, and sexed, ideal for egg production, breeding, or adding new genetics to your setup.
Each bird is raised here on my Maine homestead with a lot of hands-on care. I select for health, size, and steady temperament, and every quail is looked over before pickup to make sure it’s active, alert, and healthy.

Why Choose Mature Quail
Mature quail are ideal if you’re:
- Looking to start egg collection right away
- Building or refreshing a breeding group
- Expanding your covey without brooding or grow-out time
- Hoping to test out quail before diving into full-scale hatching
They’re great if you want to get started fast, but if you’re new to quail, I still recommend starting with day-old chicks when you can. You’ll learn more that way, get comfortable with the process, and understand your birds from the ground up.

Is a Mature Bird Right for You?
Mature birds are the fastest way to get started, but they’re not always the best option for everyone. If you’re just starting out, raising quail from chicks helps you learn their needs and build a solid, dependable covey over time.
Not sure which life stage makes the most sense for your goals? I’m happy to help you figure it out.
